Business License Information
Business License Requirements
Anyone conducting business within the City of Dixon needs a current
business license. After obtained if there are any revisions to the business license there is a fee
of $25.00
Some businesses are not allowed in certain zones or require special approval.
Business locations must be
a physical address. No PO Boxes are allowed within the city limits.
Completing the Business License
Application Business License applications can be obtained through City Hall located at
600 East A Street.
It can also be downloaded from our website by clicking this link
License Form. You must also fill out the Hazardous
Materials and Air Pollution Survey and the Worker’s Compensation
Declaration Forms.
Once you have completed the application return it to City Hall with a check for the
appropriate fees.
The Finance Department will process your application in approximately thirty days. Once
the application is processed, the business license will be mailed to your business location.
Home Occupation
PermitsAny Dixon business that does not have a commercial storefront, office or industrial
location is considered
a home-based business and therefore requires a home occupation
permit. There is a one time application fee for
the permit of $150.00 and must be
submitted with the business license application.
