Community Development

The Community Development Department is responsible for conducting both long-range and current planning, plan checking, building permit issuance and field inspections of all buildings and structures in the City of Dixon.

The Planning Division's scope includes preparing and implementing the General Plan, administering the Zoning Code (Title 12), providing Staff support for the Planning Commission, and relaying planning information to the public.

The Building Division enforces the minimum requirements of the State Building Codes, State and Federal Laws and Local Ordinances.

The Dixon City Hall will be closed the first Friday of each month due to budget issues.

The Building Department phone and counter hours are from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM Monday through Friday.The building inspection hours are 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM Monday through Thursday. There will be NO inspections performed on Fridays.
